Townhouses & Duplexes in Isabela, PR

Welcome to Isabela, the Puerto Rico municipality on the northwest coast, known for Jobos Beach, Guajataca, and a dozen beaches.

Isabela is a municipality on the northwestern coast of Puerto Rico, situated between the towns of Quebradillas and Aguadilla. Its population was about 42,943 at the 2020 census. The municipality is known for its beaches, its surf, and a coastline that stretches along the Atlantic-facing northwest shore of the island. The town's name honors Queen Isabella I of Castile, and Isabela officially became a municipality in 1819. Through the nineteenth century and beyond, its economy rested on agriculture — sugarcane, coffee, tobacco, and other crops — with the fertile coastal plain and river valleys supporting the town and its barrios. A 1918 earthquake that affected western Puerto Rico left its mark on the community's development. Today Isabela is best known for its shoreline. The municipality claims roughly a dozen beaches, including the popular Jobos Beach and Playa Montones, which draw families, surfers, and visitors from across the island. The Guajataca Tunnel, a distinctive tunnel and coastal landmark, is another signature site, and the tourism board has promoted the town through its "Voy Turistiendo" campaign. Surf culture, beachfront dining, and a growing visitor economy now complement the town's agricultural base. Isabela's geography spans beachfront barrios, rolling hills, and farmland, giving it a varied character within a compact area. Its location places it between Aguadilla's airport and regional services to the west and the towns of the northwest coast to the east. For residents, Isabela offers a coastal, outdoors-oriented way of life with strong local identity, easy beach access, and a landscape that blends shore, agriculture, and small-town Puerto Rican culture. The municipality's rhythm is shaped by the sea, the surf, and generations of families rooted in the land.
