Yalaha sits in central Lake County, Florida, on the southern shore of Lake Harris, one of the largest lakes in the Harris Chain of Lakes. The census-designated place counted 1,505 residents in 2020, spread across a low-density area of about six square miles. It is bordered to the west by the Leesburg city limits and to the southeast by the town of Howey-in-the-Hills, and its center lies nine miles southeast of Leesburg, ten miles southwest of the county seat at Tavares, and sixteen miles north of Groveland.
